.CHARACTER.

 

 

…a word that is often overlooked.

People worry more so about their reputation than their character.  Not realizing that a reputation only takes them so far, but character…now thats what keeps you going. It is said that personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open.  This can’t be more true.  Abraham Lincoln (my daughter’s favorite person in history thus far) was a wise man with great character.  He had this to say….

 

“Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow.  The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.”

 Simply put… character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.  Eventually your character surfaces and how sad it can be if it is not all it was cracked up to be.
