Dear Self,

The girl who stares back at you in the mirror is not a fragile, sad, lonely girl.  She is strong and beautiful.  She exudes confidence and power.  She knows she is unrepeatable.  Her integrity is solid and her actions are morally consistent.  She believes in Good people.  She believes in the unbelievable.  Her soul is uniquely complex and old.  Her love is boundless and her heart is breakable.  This is where the strong matters.  She knows it wont be broken forever.  She takes life’s struggles and she perseveres.  She is sometimes at the edge of tears but is stubbornly patient.  Failure is not an option to her.  She knows tough times wont last but she will if she stays tough.  She is a women who bleeds class.  She keeps her heels, head, and standards high.   She is witty and compassionate.  Her eyes are not selfish but ones full of kindness.  Her hands are that of a gentle touch.  Every scar she yields is what provides her grace.

This beauty she reflects is yours and yours alone.  This is the person others see when they look at you.  This is you, and you are perfectly imperfect.  You are blessed.

a million things make me who I am but just a few of them touch my core. 1. First and foremost, I am a mother to the most beautiful little girl who amazes me and tests me daily. I also coach her soccer team and love all of my little girls. 2. I Love hard and break even harder...but getting into my heart for that Love is the tricky part. 3. I reserve my full self for those who show they are worth the effort. 4. I believe everything happens for a reason and if it is meant to be then it will be. 5. I love the word kismet.

This post really blessed me..my brother Stephen (I think you know him from the gym) shared this with me. Life choices have resulted in some painful experiences for me, and I am still in the throes of a difficult divorce. I know the Lord loves me and will provide grace to walk through these circumstances, but it is often a challenge to remember that my experiences only shape me, they don’t DEFINE me.

Thanks for the reminder and the encouragement! God bless you!

    • Yes! We love Stephen at the gym. He is a wonderful motivator! I am completely humbled knowing my words have become of use to someone else. I have also had some very trying times since 2009 and also some that I can only look back on and smile. Its amazing though how easy it is to forget the good ones and how it is so unbelievably hard to forget and let go of the hurtful ones. I try to keep a reminder near me every day that there is a reason I have been sent down the path I am currently on. The hardest part is waiting to see why…

First, I’ve been psycho stalking your blog since I found it. Second, that is highly classified because your sister would kill me if she ever found out. Third, I think this is right at the top of your best posts to date. But it’s been 2 weeks. Get your ass back to work. Take care Brandy
