Friends get you through the day.
They make your good days better and your bad ones seem silly. They reason with you during moments of overreacting and talk sense into you when you feel there is none left in this world.
They are your life line.
They save you from your worst moments or those potential ones they know you are about to have. I don’t know how anyone can get through life without good strong friends by their side.
They are a rare commodity and you can never have too many.
I am lucky enough to enjoy an abundance of these fabulous treasures. Each friendship being unique and holding its own value. Some I have held for 15+ years, some maybe 5 years, and others only just months. Yet all of these {no matter the time span} are priceless to me. One cannot outweigh the other. Each person I hold with the highest respect and regard because they have chosen to get to know me. That alone is an honor in itself. I will always feel blessed to be included in someone elses life and try my hardest to never take that for granted.
Here is where I am going with this. I have two women that have come into my life this year and without them I am not sure where I would be. They have both been my rock and my listening ear through my dilemmas. One has kept me on track with my faith and the other has opened her arms to accept and learn more about it. These two women are stronger and more amazing than they may know or realize.
Last weekend we decided we have had our share of this town and needed a break. A road trip to nowhere became the solution. Although one thing lead to another and the road trip was taken out of play we made our much-needed break work.
We went antiquing!!
A day that was planned for us 3 ladies turned into us and 3 daughters. Starting at Starbucks (of course) and then piling 6 ladies in the car to travel to South Norfolk..or Great Bridge {we are not quite sure where we were} to relax and shop. I think we were waiting to see how long it took for the first tired girl and the ’I want to go home’ moment. Much to our surprise the younger girls ♥ antiquing!!! We spent all day rummaging through these old homes full of fabulous surprises around every corner.
Everyone left happy and of course we made time for photo shoots ♥ The day was exhausting but in such a wonderful way. We felt like we were worlds away from the drama, headaches, and stress we needed a break from. I realized that this feeling did not happen because we got in a car and drove away from them. This ‘worlds away’ feeling came from being surrounded by wonderful people. Wonderful people I am so proud to call my girlfriends. We helped each other forget about the thoughts that plague our minds. It is simply a day I will never forget and always treasure ♥ Thank you ladies for being you!
{Starbucks & 6 ladies ready for a full day of antiquing}
{Morgan got a fab purse. Autumn searched and found a gorgeous ring, I will be back for that trunk, and Steph found her perfect Box for her shells and sea glass and gorgeous old shutters as a back drop!}
{Miss Morgan & Miss ABM}
{I left with a this wonderful dresser top mirror tray with gold filigree & an old 3 part extension farm ladder. The gentlemen that sold it to me was heartbroken the extensions were sold separately {as was I} but made sure I knew how unique this piece was}
{Jodi & her beautiful daughters Elizabeth & Morgan}
{Jodi’s fabulous finds! brooches & bonnets}

{Friendship isn’t about whom you’ve known the longest. it’s about who came and never left your side♥}
{love loudly.}

Another fine post Brandy. I hadn’t been entirely convinced that you and Risa were really sisters, but after seeing your shoe photo and the treasures from your trip, there is nothing left to question. Looks like it was a great day and I would say your friends are lucky to be your friends, since you truly seem to value and appreciate that friendship. I like your page because you write about things that matter, such as friendship, but you always add something to make it fun to read, such as antiquing (actually, for me that just made it painful, but you get the point). I hope your batteries are recharged and that you have a great rest of the week. I promise my words are sincere and I’m not just kissing your butt simply because one of these days we’ll be somewhat related if all goes according to my plan. I don’t blow smoke; takes too much energy. Anyway, as always, please no mention to Risa that I read your blog. I’ll be honest and tell you I’m a little scared of her. I love her, but she is KrAzy. Take care.
Ahaha. Thank you and yesss we are definitely related. Me just being the sane one in the Peterson girls. Thats how I see it anyhow
Your secret is safe with me!
