I love those days when you are going along with not a care in sight and then {BOOM!} it hits you. Someone says something. A stranger gives a gesture. Somewhere, Somehow you receive a message that you really and truly needed in that very moment. You did not know it, but when it happens it hits you like a ton of bricks. Subconsciously you knew it but your brain was not responding to it until that very moment where it had to out of shock and awe.
The moment of enlightenment.
For me it came in a blog post from my always smart and wise little cousin Alysson♥ Although the only thing ‘little’ about her is she is younger than me! She always seems to be about 5 inches taller than myself and I am nothing close to being short. She is tall, strong, beautiful, and wise beyond her years.
From just a few lines of thoughts that I like to describe as simple yet deep and profound here is what I took from them:
Every moment in our lives serves a purpose to our future. How you embrace those moments determines the wealth of said future. Don’t be scared to put it all on the line. If you risk nothing can you really gain anything worth while? You may not get instant gratification, but when is instant gratification ever fulfilling for longer than… well an instant?
Good things are certainly worth waiting for but it’s also knowing the breaking line and never taking things for granted. Timing is everything, don’t rush it but also don’t delay it. When it’s there, it’s there. Your ups and downs will come and go just remember that in your hardest and darkest moments, that is when you are held up the most. Trust that you are never given more than you can handle and this thought will get you through these times.
Just when you think you have nothing more to give is exactly the moment that you give it all…risk it all. Why not, you have nothing to lose, right? Learn to listen and trust that voice inside of you. It has never once steered me wrong, it will guide you too. It will tell you that it is too soon to give up when giving up is the only thing that you want to do. It knows there is something better on its way if you just keep going. This voice will also tell you when it is time to let go when all we so desperately want to do is hold on. But close your eyes and just let go. Listen and you will know that this letting go you are doing is not giving up. It is not throwing in the towel because the situation is just too hard. It’s the realization that holding onto something so tightly will only suffocate it in the end. Allowing yourself to let something go that weighs on you so heavily is good from time to time. It is a soul refresher. Sometimes moments and people in our lives are only meant to be temporary. Use those times to grow. To learn. To strengthen your soul.
Let yourself stand out and know that you will be ok when standing alone and go against the grain occasionally. It is when nothing seems possible that everything becomes possible. You must have the ability to see past the 6 inches in front of your face and know that a future perfectly tailored for you is there waiting to embrace you, on His schedule…not yours.
He is in every moment that passes you and in every moment there is a reason though you may never see it. So the saying goes for the faithful, ”it is the not seeing that is believing.” How beautiful that sounds. We all used to be faithful at one point in some way or another. Faith is believing in Santa…the Easter Bunny…the Tooth Fairy…God. To be able to see the world and everything in it through a childs eyes and heart again. How sweet that would be. To never know true fear or hurt or disappointment. To love everything and believe in anything. Children are born faithful, we are all born faithful…at which point were we taught to lose that faith?
This world is just too intricate in design for us to ever hope to someday comprehend. Having the faith to let go and just take every moment and every day as it is, knowing it serves a purpose, is nothing less than hard but completely necessary to fully take advantage of this life we’re blessed with.
{As your faith is strengthened you will find that there is no longer the need to have a sense of control, that things will flow as they will, and that you will flow with them, to your great delight and benefit.}
{love loudly.}
